Timing Window

- Mentions count through the end of the 9th inning

What Counts as a Mention
- The exact word or phrase must be spoken aloud
- Plural and possessive forms count
- Compound or hyphenated forms count if they clearly include the target word
- Closed compound words that fully contain the target word do not count
- Grammatical or tense variations do not count unless explicitly stated
- Ordinal forms count when the phrase includes a number
Language & Interpretation Rules
- Homonyms and homographs count
- Homophones do not count
- Words spoken in another language do not count
- Reasonable alternate spellings or pronunciations may count

- Play by play and color commentary are included

- If no national broadcast exists, the home team broadcast is used
